We prioritize our efforts in the vineyard, recognizing it as the cradle of wine production. It serves as our primary workspace, demanding the majority of our time and attention. Our main focus is to craft Gallipoli wines that authentically mirror the distinct terroir of the Gallipoli National Park, encapsulating its unique natural characteristics and climate nuances.
This place resembles an open-air factory, where we contend with various natural hazards such as hailstorms, tornadoes, excessive rainfall, or drought, each posing potential risks to our operations. Furthermore, our grapevines are not solely tended by us; they are shared with birds, pigs, and foxes, adding another layer of complexity. Nevertheless, regardless of the challenges we face, our foremost principle remains unwavering: respect for nature. Therefore, organic production practices are not just preferred but deemed indispensable in our approach.
We take pride in operating the vineyard with the help of an international team of volunteers. Particularly in August and September, the harvest season, we come together with friends who share our passion for Gallipoli wines. Side by side, we hand-pick the grapes, fostering a sense of wine fraternity and multiplying our enthusiasm through shared experiences.
